Three Goldeyes Named to NL All-Star Team

Three players from the Winnipeg Goldeyes were named to the Northern League All-Star team on Monday.
Pitcher Chris Salamida, shortstop Wes Long and right fielder/first baseman Kevin West will face the Golden League’s All-Star team on July 14 in Tucson, Arizona.
Salamida’s record is 6-2 this season with a 3.84 ERA, and is among the best in the Northern League. West is second in the Northern League with a .355 batting average and is tied for third in the loop with 13 doubles. Long comes in third with a batting average of .331 and his 58 hits are third-best in the league. He has hit three home runs this season and compiled 22 RBI.

The Northern League All-Stars will play the Golden League’s All-Star team on July 14 in Tucson, Arizona?? When was this announced? Can’t find any info on the Northern League website… strange.

No Juan Diaz? and I though the Allstar Game was going to be in a Northern League City like how they Usually Do it? Why did They change it?

“Winnipeg designated hitter Juan Diaz would have been the fourth member of Goldeyes on the all-star squad, but he will be tending to personal matters at his home in Miami during the all-star break.”
