It’s not a surprise that Winnipeg utilizes the use of mobile photo radar vehicles to nab speeders, but maybe they should change up their strategy a little bit. I’ve got a keen eye and spot them everytime, as do other drivers.

It’s quite obvious when all of a sudden you see a parked vehicle on the side of the road idling with no other vehicles around it.

This brings me to the topic of Bishop Grandin Boulevard. City crews are working on the Fort Garry Bridge and traffic is diverted. Due to all of the chaos and to prevent any injuries to the workers, police have set up two mobile radar vehicles that I’ve spotted three days in a row. The first is facing east catching speeders coming down Bishop Grandin turning off of Pembina Highway. The second is facing west near River Road.

The only problem is they stick out due to where they choose to park (up on medians, on the shoulder, in the ditch etc.) Almost every driver I was following behind hit the brakes as they approached these vehicles.

Because I’m a nice guy, I always give a honk n’ wave.

FYI, these are some of the vehicles to look out for. And yes, the guy in the last picture is sleeping.
