Winnipeg Rings in 2009 with Outdoor Winter Fun
Winnipeggers braved the chilly temperatures on New Year’s Eve to head down to The Forks for the fabulous fireworks display, including myself. A couple hundred spectators stood near the Assiniboine River bank, while others enjoyed the view from inside Johnston Terminal where it was warm and cozy.

While most were taking in the light show in the sky, a game of shinny took place on the skating rink at the Scotia Bank stage.

Others got their picture taken with the coloured ice sculpture in front of Inn at the Forks.

A large group of people waited patiently for a safe ride home as Winnipeg Transit provided free rides all night long.

… And to all a good night. Happy New Year!
