Rogers, Canada’s least favourite wireless provider, has dropped their data price plans in anticipation for the Apple iPhone release on Friday. They wouldn’t have done anything if it weren’t for thousands of Canadians voicing their opinion.

For $30 a month you get 6 GB of data ONLY if you sign up before August 31st. After that the plan goes back up to $60. Way to accommodate those of us still on contracts with equally horrible service providers. The phone will still cost $199 on a whopping 3 year contract. Why not just tie a ball and chain to the phone and get it over with?

Can you even imagine having the same piece of hardware for 3 years? The warranty on the thing is only one year — so you’re SOL if anything breaks during the second or third year.

Thanks, Rogers. You’re the best!
