Canada’s Olympic Skating Stars Coming to MTS Centre

Kevin Martin Wins Gold in Men’s Curling Final

It was bitter sweet Saturday for skip Kevin Martin and the Canadian men’s curling team. Comprised of John Morris, Marc Kennedy, Ben Hebert and alternate Adam Enright, the men defeated Norway 6-3 — the same team that crushed their gold medal dreams at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.

Lyndon Rush of Saskatoon and his team of David Bissett, Lascelles Brown and Chris Le Bihan won bronze Saturday in four-man bobsleigh at Whistler Sliding Centre.

Canadian Men’s Long Track Team Wins Gold

The Canadian men’s long track speed skating team picked up a gold medal Saturday at the Richmond Olympic Oval.
Mathieu Giroux, Lucas Makowsky and Denny Morrison came in with a time of 3:41.37.

With a 3-2 defeat over Slovakia Friday night, Team Canada’s men’s hockey team will face off against the United States Sunday afternoon.
