Two more comedians have been added to this year’s Winnipeg Comedy Festival lineup.
Tommy Chong will host the Good Neighbours gala on Friday, April 7 at Pantages Playhouse Theatre.
Raunchy comedian Lisa Lampanelli, known as the “Queen of Mean,” is set to play the Burton Cummings Theatre this spring.
Lampanelli will appear Saturday, May 13 as part of her latest comedy tour.
Lampanelli’s rise to the top of the comedy food chain began in 2002, when she was the only female comedian invited to skewer Chevy Chase on the NY Friars Club Roast.
Comedian Shawn Wayans is making a return to Rumor’s Comedy Club.
The actor from “In Living Color” fame, “Little Man”, “White Chicks” and “Scary Movie 1 & 2,” will play six shows April 20-23.

TORONTO — It’s back to the pumps for “Corner Gas” as the Canadian sitcom smash is being rebooted as an animated series.
The award-winning show was the No. 1 sitcom in Canada throughout its entire six-season run, which ended in 2009. The cast reunited for “Corner Gas: The Movie,” which was released in 2014.
Pre-production on the animated version of “Corner Gas” will begin in January.
Former wrestler Jake “The Snake” Roberts turned heads in the ring, but will work to make you bust a gut of a different kind when he brings his comedy show to Winnipeg in the new year.

That’s the new comedic production currently running at Prairie Theatre Exchange looking at the world of motherhood. Anecdotes, or “mom”-ologues as PTE calls them, make up this refreshed play written by six Vancouver actors.
“I’m looking forward to introducing it to a new generation of parents,” said PTE artistic director Robert Metcalfe. “But I also think it will remind those of us whose small-child-parenting days are behind us, just what an incredible journey we took with our little ones.”
Recently-ousted “Saturday Night Live” cast member Jay Pharoah is coming to Rumor’s Comedy Club.
Pharoah will perform five shows in Winnipeg March 2-4, 2017.
He spent six seasons on “SNL,” and is best known for his celebrity impressions, including President Barack Obama, Will Smith, Denzel Washington, Stephen A. Smith, Kanye West and Chris Tucker. His recurring character is school principal Daniel Frye.
