McDonald's BreakfastAfter testing it in some markets, including Winnipeg, McDonald’s is bringing all-day breakfast to restaurants across Canada beginning February 21 due to growing demand.

The Grant Park McDonald’s was the first location in Winnipeg to begin the all-day morning food selection on January 13, which has proven to be popular among customers.

TORONTO – McDonald’s Canada has begun serving all-day breakfast at some of its restaurants across Canada.

The fast-food giant says customers can order Egg McMuffins and hashbrowns, along with other breakfast staples, at 17 restaurants in B.C., Ontario and Quebec.

The majority of the locations serving breakfast past 11 a.m. are in Ajax and Whitby, Ont. The rest are in Mississauga, Ont., Brampton, Ont., the Montreal area, Langley, B.C., and Coquitlam, B.C.

McDonald’s is taking fast food to a whole new place, and offering customers the chance to completely customize their meals, and their dining experience.

“It’s all about giving our guests as many options as we possibly can, and all about giving the guests an experience as soon as they walk in the door,” Regent Avenue McDonald’s restaurant manager Josh Odwak said.

TORONTO – McDonald’s Canada has bad news for those looking to get their Egg McMuffin fix past 11 a.m.

Spokeswoman Lisa Hutniak said the company has no plans to offer an all-day breakfast despite the brand’s announcement that its American restaurants will introduce the option Oct. 6.

Hutniak said the company is keeping a close eye on the nationwide experiment by the Americans and are always looking to meet the needs and wants of their customers.

Twitter users were quick to decry the disparity.

Selkirk Man Wins $1M in McDonald’s Monopoly

Bob Curle of Selkirk, Manitoba claimed his $1 million cheque on Thursday, as won in a Monopoly contest put on by McDonald’s.

Curle collected his prize at the Main Street McDonald’s location in Selkirk. That’s where he recently pealed off a “Collect and Win” game stamp off his large cup of coffee.

It’s the first time someone in Canada has won a $1 million prize through the contest in five years. The prize will be paid out over 20 years without interest in increments of $50,000.

The contest, which has since ended, launched on September 25.

VIDEO: McDonald’s Literally Shells Out Cold, Hard Cash

To celebrate its Dollar Drink Days promotion, McDonald’s gave away 4,000 loonies near Sylvan Lake, Alberta recently.

The fast food giant embedded the loonies in the shape of its trademark ‘M’ inside 8,000 lbs. of ice. Passersby were tasked with trying to chip out a loonie to get themselves a drink.

As part of the celebration, McDonald’s held a beach party at the Sylvan Lake Pier while the ice melted, including games and giveaways to tie in with its $1 summer drink promotion.

The creative promotion was coordinated by Vancouver marketing agency Cossette.
