The Selkirk Regional Health Centre officially opened Thursday, showcasing its 180,506 square-foot facility that created two times the health-care space compared to its previous centre.
An argument in Selkirk turned violent on Saturday night when two people were stabbed and a third severely injured.
RCMP were called to an address on Jemima Street at around 10 p.m. where they found three people requiring medical assistance. Police say a group had been arguing before an assault took place.

SELKIRK, Man. – Four teenage boys have been charged with arson in a fire that destroyed a popular Manitoba paddlewheeler that plied the Red River for decades.
The Paddlewheel Princess was used for riverboat tours, but the owner sold it last year when he retired.
Selkirk RCMP are considering the fire that destroyed the Paddlewheel Princess boat on Tuesday as suspicious.
Emergency crews were called to the Red River just north of Selkirk at around 6:40 a.m.
A homeowner in Selkirk, Manitoba wasn’t seriously hurt when a man brandishing a gun and an edged weapon broke into his home on Tuesday night.
RCMP say the break-in on North Dominique Drive happened at around 11:35 p.m. when the intruder forced his way through the back door. The homeowner was hit and had demands made against him, but the attacker left empty-handed a few minutes later.
