Film production will close a stretch of York Avenue today in downtown Winnipeg.

From 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the Netflix production How It Ends will be shooting on York between Edmonton Street and Carlton Street.

WINNIPEG — A new system has been put in place to notify drivers of potential delays during their commute around the Waverley Underpass construction project.

The City of Winnipeg says travel time information will be displayed in real-time on an electronic message board on northbound Waverley Street in advance of McGillivray, so motorists can consider alternate routes.

With thousands of athletes and visitors descending on Winnipeg in the coming days for the 2017 Canada Summer Games, traffic volumes are expected to peak in the city. Several street closures are in effect for planned events, such as the Torch Relay on Wednesday.

From 6 a.m. until 3 p.m., northbound Edmonton Street from Portage Avenue to Graham Avenue will be closed to traffic.

Football fans will be seeing fewer buses lined up around Investors Group Field this season when they take in a Winnipeg Blue Bombers game.

With the opening of the new Stadium Station rapid transitway on Tuesday, the more than 200 buses that previously lined streets around the stadium will be travelling through the new terminal.
