Winnipeg Police CrestWINNIPEG — A 20-year-old woman is in stable condition in hospital after being stabbed on Tuesday morning.

Winnipeg police were called to the 900 block of Dominion Street at around 2:35 a.m., where a passerby attempted to help the female victim, but was chased off. Police say the suspect, who was armed with a knife, then stolen the passerby’s vehicle and took off.

Police Disarm Man with Gun in Parking Lot of Winnipeg Bar

Winnipeg Police CrestWinnipeg police diffused a potentially deadly situation on Monday night when a man loaded a handgun in the parking lot of a bar in the 1100 block of Arlington Street.

Police say the suspect had been in a dispute with a patron who he physically assaulted at around 11:55 p.m. He left the bar and went to a vehicle, where he grabbed a handgun and loaded it with ammunition.

Winnipeg Police CrestWINNIPEG — A 30-year-old man died Sunday after being struck by a vehicle in the 300 block of Cumberland Avenue.

Police say the man was walking in the area when a vehicle travelling eastbound on Cumberland hit him at around 3:15 a.m. The driver took off in a grey or silver vehicle with front-end damage.

Winnipeg police detonated a suspicious package in the downtown area on Friday after cordoning off the area for several hours.

The bomb unit was on scene near Portage Avenue and Garry Street at around 2:30 p.m. Roughly an hour later, police detonated the package using a controlled robot.
