The thing about most Winnipeg media outlets is that they don’t respond for comment when we do a story about them. They generally brush the blogosphere aside — but Hank FM didn’t.

Michelle Pereira, Sales Manager for 100.7 Hank FM, gave us the following statement regarding the little typo on their latest billboards.

100.7 Hank FMThere was a spelling mistake in the word ‘Continuous’ that appears in our logo on the most current Super Boards that are in circulation. We are embarrassed that this occurred and have made the necessary changes to resolve the issue.

The boards were up for three weeks and yesterday, January 20th was the first that we were made aware of the error. CBS was quick to make the correction and you can expect to see the new boards up by Friday, January 23, 2009.

This is something that unfortunately happens in any business, we are not the first to make such an error and my thoughts are that we likely won’t be the last. In respect to your title, “HANK FM Billboard, Somebody’s Getting Fired“, I can assure you that no one will be losing their job because of this miniscule error. We are one of the few radio stations that has deferred from laying off any staff due to the current economic state.

We appreciate your coverage on our radio station, no publicity is bad publicity. We look forward to future coverage.
