When they say, “have it your way”, they mean to a certain extent, but nothing like this.
A police operator scolded a Florida man who called 911 to report that the Burger King he was at didn’t have lemonade. Jean Fortune, 66, called police on Saturday after placing an order for a combo #7. Upon approaching the drive-thru window he was told that lemonade wasn’t available, but he could have Coke instead.
That’s when the customer became irate and called in the fuz — or at least tried to.
“Sir, come on. I know you don’t seriously think that the police need to make Burger King give you food faster. I cannot believe that,” said an exasperated 911 operator.
Fortune was charged with abuse of 911 communications, according the Boynton Beach Police Department report.
Meanwhile, here in Winnipeg, neither 911, nor 311 operators, can make Burger King give you something they don’t have.
