ToiletManitobans looking to save some money during these hard economic times can look no further than to their toilet for some savings.

As part of the WaterSmart Manitoba initiative, those purchasing high-efficiency, dual-flush toilets from participating retailers will be offered an instant $50 rebate today. Dual flush toilets allow users to choose the amount of water used when flushing, and also help you save on your water bill. It’s expected the toilets could save Manitobans about $2 million a year in combined water costs.

The one-day promotion (February 21 only) is available at several retailers throughout Manitoba. Read the full list to find the location closest to you.

According to Rona, their Kenaston location plans to sell about 300 toilets today. The dual-flush thrones range in price from about $250 to $400.

I can only imagine the conversations in households across Manitoba today — “Honey, grab the kids. We’re goin’ toilet shopping!”
