97% Want Ticketmaster Investigated

After Katherine Labossiere and others across Canada launched class action lawsuits against Ticketmaster, the public wants answers. The talk on local radio stations and in e-mails to ChrisD.ca is that the province should investigate Ticketmaster’s sales practices.

With Ticketmaster being the only official outlet for ticket sales to MTS Centre events, fans don’t want to be shelling out more than face value for tickets like Ms. Labossiere did.

According to a WinnipegFreePress.com poll, it’s pretty clear that the Manitoba government should step in and take a look at this situation.

“The prices are outrageous … it was like $240 for floor tickets,” one Winnipegger who believes Ticketmaster recently overcharged him told Global TV on Tuesday.

On another note, I’m not sure why the poll results only add up to 99%. Paging Freep techie John White!

UPDATE: That didn’t take long. The Manitoba government is now closely watching the civil lawsuit against Ticketmaster. They’ll take appropriate action after the courts make a ruling.
