More Volunteers Sought for Vancouver 2010 Olympic Ceremonies

March 19, 2009 6:05 AM | Sports

Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter GamesThe organizing committee of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games is looking for thousands of volunteer performers to help with the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Already 3,200 volunteer applications have been received, but it’s still not enough.

7,500 applications is what organizers are aiming to hit, which would create a strong pool from which to select successful performers.

Previous experience is not a requirement for the performers, dancers and athletes of all types and skills needed to stage the iconic mega-productions. Volunteer performers must be 17 or older by May 1, 2009 to apply; there is no upper age limit.

I filled out an application a while ago and let me tell you, it’s a long process. That shouldn’t discourage you though. If you want to be a part of the games, you can visit Vancouver2010.com/ceremonies to apply.
