An urgent call has been issued by the Winnipeg Humane Society for large kennels to house animals evacuated from the flood zone in Fargo, N.D.
The animals are currently living in soggy cardboard boxes that aren’t holding up too well.
Aileen White of the WHS said on Saturday that they need to start sending kennels down immediately. As many as 300 carriers may be required. The carriers are mostly needed at an evacuation centre in Valley City, N.D. for cats and dogs.
To donate a kennel, you can drop it off at the WHS located at 45 Hurst Way. If donating after-hours, they can be left near the garage doors.
