University of ManitobaIf you want to take a break from your in-laws on Easter Sunday, you should consider heading down to the University of Manitoba.

Artwork from the Fine Arts students will be on display from noon until 5:00 p.m. for the School of Art’s annual open house. Dubbed a “visual extravaganza” by organizers, visitors will be treated to artwork by students in each of the School’s studio areas: ceramics, drawing, foundations, graphic design, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture. A continuous loop of art videos will also play in one of the display areas, and students in ceramics will hold their Annual Chili Bowl Sale by selling bowls they made that they have filled with chili. And until April 24, 2009, graduating students will also have their works on display at Gallery One One One, FitzGerald Building.

The open house will occupy the School’s three buildings: The FitzGerald Building (including the Annex), the Sculpture/Ceramics Building and the Art Barn. Campus maps are available at the FitzGerald Building, 55 Chancellors Circle and are online at www.umanitoba.ca/maps/.

Parking is free on Sundays on campus.
