While some Winnipeggers are under the impression that Google has packed up and left our city, that’s not the case. The search engine giant is still collecting photos of Winnipeg for its Street View feature of Google Maps.
This photo was taken Wednesday on Portage Avenue near Polo Park.
It’s nice to see Google has stuck around to get footage of Winnipeg now that the spring cleanup has started. The city is spending 3.6 million to tidy up the streets beginning Sunday until the third week in May. If Google sticks around beyond Sunday, Bartley Kives at the Free Press may have to alter the title of this article.
