Effective Monday, April 27, the Flood Evacuee Reception Centre in Winnipeg, located at the Century Arena (1377 Clarence Avenue), will be open from 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. daily, until further notice. The Reception Centre will remain open from 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday, April 25 and 26.
Individuals who have been evacuated from their home and require emergency lodging or immediate financial assistance, these services, as well as Registration with the Canadian Red Cross, are available at the Reception Centre.
Evacuees who do not require emergency lodging or immediate financial assistance are reminded to register as an evacuee by calling the Canadian Red Cross Registration and Family Reunification line at 1-888-662-3211. The phone line operates 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. daily.
The Reception Centre opened on April 15, 2009 and has assisted 259 families, which includes 681 individuals.
