Now that the streets are being swept up, how about a new bike for spring?
The Winnipeg Police Service will hold its annual auction of unclaimed bicycles this weekend. The auction runs from Saturday, April 25 to Sunday, April 26 at the Varsity View Sportsplex, 4230 Ridgewood Avenue.
Approximately 400 bicycles will be auctioned off on Saturday, and another 300 on Sunday. There will be plenty of bikes to choose from. On-site parking is available for $1.00, with all parking proceeds going to the Varsity View Community Club.
Public viewing will be available as follows:
Saturday, April 25 from 7:00 a.m. – 8:45 a.m. – Auction begins at 9:00 a.m. sharp
Sunday, April 26 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. – Auction begins at 12:00 noon sharp
All bicycles are sold as is; a warranty is not provided.
Cash, MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Interac payments will be accepted. Cheques will not be accepted.
You can also take advantage of a one time bicycle registration, which will be available on site for $5.00 plus GST, per bicycle. Registering your bike will ensure that, should it be recovered, you get it back at no charge.
