May 1, 2009 7:04 AM | Sports

Winnipeg GoldeyesWinnipeg Goldeyes fans will definitely not want to miss the club’s open house on Saturday, May 2 at Canwest Park.

The action begins at 10 a.m., when the box office opens for the first day for single-game ticket sales to all 48 regular season home games and both pre-season games.

Fans can then enter the ballpark beginning at 11 a.m. where tours will be given at several different intervals providing a look behind the scenes, including the dugout, press box and other areas of the park.

New merchandise will be on sale in the Goldeyes store, there will be hourly prize draws, Goldie will be there and Winkler Meats hot dogs and Pepsi will be provided to the first 1,500 fans in attendance. And what did you hear in school about there being no such thing as a free lunch? That was all hearsay.

As fans do their thing, Goldeyes manager Rick Forney and his coaching staff will be putting the team through day two of training camp on the field.

The open house concludes at 2 p.m.
