A female in the 10- to 19-year old age group is the first Manitoban to be infected with the H1N1 flu virus.

Officials confirmed on Sunday afternoon that the student attends Riverheights School in Brandon. The girl travelled to Mexico, the U.S. and B.C. in April and is showing mild symptoms of the influenza illness, but does not require hospitalization.
