The University of Manitoba has received $500,000 from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Manitoba to go toward the new Downtown Campus of the I.H. Asper School of Business.
“This is an investment in the future of our province,” said Dr. David Barnard, president and vice-chancellor of the University of Manitoba. “By working with us in developing the Asper School of Business’s new facility, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Manitoba is demonstrating their continued commitment to business education and helping us develop Manitoba’s future business leaders.”
The new Asper School of Business, Downtown Campus is located in a heritage setting on the 2nd floor at 177 Lombard. This historic space will house:
- “Smart” classrooms, delivering local and distance professional development opportunities
- A large boardroom that can be booked for meetings in the downtown area
- Space for receptions, providing a meeting place for corporate and community leaders
- A library and reading room available to the business community
