Members of the Winnipeg Police Service will be taking part in the Cops for Cancer Head Shave this weekend.
Over 40 officers will be in centre court at Kildonan Place Shopping Centre from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday to get their heads shaved in support of the Canadian Cancer Society. Ace Burpee from Hot 103 will be hosting this fun-filled event.
Donations for the cause can also be made at the mall’s Guest Services desk in advance.
Cops for Cancer started in 1994 with six Edmonton Police Officers shaving their heads to help a young boy who suffered hair loss as a result of his cancer treatment. It has since grown to annual fundraising events such as the Annual Winnipeg Police Service Half Marathon and Two Person Relay held at Assiniboine Park.
