The Winnipeg Goldeyes made some moves on Saturday, as manager Rick Forney announced some changes to the roster.
Joining the Fish is catcher Hank Lanto, 25, who arrives after going to spring training with Schaumburg, with whom he played last year.
Outfielder Kurt Crowell has been placed on the Disabled List, and will be lost to the Goldeyes for at least a week. He joins pitcher Matt Spade, who is also out of action.
UPDATE: May 24 at 11:53 a.m. — The Goldeyes have since released Lanto. He played in Saturday’s game against Kansas City, where Winnipeg lost 7-2. Lanto went hitless in two plate appearances and committed an error in a two-run fourth that allowed the visitors to take a 5-1 lead. Would hate to be that guy right now.
Meanwhile, the Goldeyes now have an open spot on their roster.
