Habitat For Humanity WinnipegA home that has quickly been built in Winnipeg’s downtown core since May 11, will be moved to its permanent location later this week.

Habitat for Humanity has been constructing the home on a flatbed trailer in the yard of St. Mary’s Cathedral across from the Delta Winnipeg. Generous volunteers have been working non-stop on the 900-square-foot bungalow, which will be moved to Charles Street for a deserving family to purchase.

The move was originally scheduled for Monday, but due to weather conditions, it has been put off until the wee hours of Friday morning.

Habitat spokesperson Karen Harrington told ChrisD.ca that there was a lot of concern due to the rain, and they did not want to risk the house sliding.

We’ll keep you posted on the home’s journey as it makes its way through Winnipeg streets.
