Can you hear me now? The Canadian Numbering Administrator says Manitoba’s 204 area code is expected to hit its maximum of possible phone number generations by January 2011.
The CRTC said on Thursday that it has initiated a process to resolve the issue. Some recommendations are to either split an area code’s region or add a new area code to the region.
Fun fact: Ontario currently has 9 different area codes, followed by Quebec with 4.
