To kick off this year’s Kidsfest, headliners from the Winnipeg International Children’s Festival will offer a free one-hour performance tonight from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Forks.
The opening ceremonies will take place in the Tim Horton’s Mainstage Tent near Scotiabank Stage. (download map)
The Opening Ceremonies will feature some of the event’s biggest musicians, including British Columbia’s Norman Foote, Nova Scotia’s Grand Dérangement and Manitoba’s Fred Penner. Equestrian circus performer, El Gleno Grande, will also be prancing and dancing with his devoted steed, Sigfrido; while Ontario variety performers, The Silly People, will emcee.
Al Simmons and Rocki Rolletti, with the Junior Noodle Wave Band have also been added to the Kidsfest lineup because of a last minute cancellation.
Kidsfest officially runs from June 4 to 7 at The Forks.
