The United Way wrapped up its 45th Annual General Meeting and Luncheon at the Convention Centre today with nearly 800 guests. United Way of Canada’s Thanks a Million award honoured companies with head offices in Winnipeg.
In 2008, 97 organizations earned this distinction and United Way of Winnipeg would like to congratulate and thank the 52 of them who have branches or representation here in our city.
Special recognition goes to the following four companies who have head offices here in Winnipeg.
- CanWest
- Cargill Limited
- James Richardson & Sons, Limited and Affiliated Companies
- Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life
Through United Way’s 2008 Campaign, Winnipeggers pulled together and raised over $17.9 million to help create lasting change in our community.
