New York City SubwayIf New York subway and transit riders don’t give up their seats to the elderly or disabled, they could face up to 10 days in jail. That’s the new no-B.S. law now in effect throughout New York City.

Jail time is only one of the consequences seat hogs could get, there are also fines of $25 to $50.

Signs went up this week in thousands of Subway cars and buses to make passengers aware of the new rules.
