Three days after the Apple iPhone 3G S went on sale, the company is reporting over one million units have been sold. The sales track from Friday, June 19 to Sunday, June 21.
Other data released on Monday include figures of the latest software update for the mobile device. Six million customers have downloaded the new iPhone 3.0 software in the first five days since its release.
As for how many of those one million plus iPhone purchases were made in Canada, Apple spokesperson Natalie Kerris told ChrisD.ca that the company doesn’t break down sales by country.
An e-mail to Rogers — the exclusive Canadian wireless carrier of the iPhone — wasn’t returned when we inquired on how many new customers have activated the 3G S model since Friday.
As most current Rogers and Fido subscribers are still locked into their previous iPhone contracts, chances are not too many of them were waiting in line last Friday when the new model went on sale.
