Winnipeg’s own Olympic speed skaters Brittany Schussler and Mike Ireland (shown second and third) helped celebrate International Olympic Day on Tuesday. The event was put on by the Hudson’s Bay Co. at St. Vital Centre to mark the eight month countdown to the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. Those in attendance enjoyed a community BBQ, street hockey game and a visit by the three Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games mascots, Miga, Quatchi and Sumi.
The afternoon also included a cheque presentation of $2010 to the Winnipeg Speed Skating Club from HBC.
