Doctors and scientists in Baltimore are trying to figure out why 16-year-old Brooke Greenberg doesn’t age. The size of an infant, with the mental capacity of a toddler, Brooke may hold the answer to the mysterious genetics behind aging.
Doctors say Brooke has never been diagnosed with any known genetic syndrome or chromosomal abnormality, which makes the situation that more puzzling.
Weighing 16 pounds, Brooke is 30 inches tall and has the body of a 6-month-old. She doesn’t speak, but she laughs when she is happy, and her parents say she recognizes the people around her.
This is definitely a story you should watch when “20/20” airs the special at 10 p.m. ET tonight on ABC.
