If you ever wanted to see banks compete — other than in those annoying Capital One commercials — this Sunday will be your opportunity. 120 employees from five banks will step up to the plate at Canwest Park on July 19 for charity.
Battle of the Banks III is in support of the United Way and hopes to raise $3,000 by day’s end. Last year, $806,000 was raised annually from the event.
“This event is more than fundraising, it’s about awareness,” says Brian Melnyk, General Manager, CIBC and United Way volunteer. “Not only do we get to have a little competitive fun, we have the opportunity to show our commitment to the community and make a real difference.”
BMO, CIBC, RBC, Scotiabank and TD Canada Trust will all take part from noon to 7 p.m. That’s a lot of baseball!
