The 2009 Cycle of Hope cyclists will make their way back into Winnipeg on Saturday afternoon from a 1,000 mile trek. The cyclists journeyed along the Lewis & Clark Trail from Williston, ND, south to Pierre, SD after leaving two weeks ago.
The 43 cyclists helped raise a total of $145,000 for Habitat for Humanity.
New Habitat homeowner, Sherry W. and her family will thank the cyclists in person tomorrow when they make their way back into the city. A police escort will accompany the riders from St. Vital Shopping Centre down St. Mary’s Road at 12:30 p.m., up Main St. through to Pioneer leading them into the last leg of their journey onto Nairn.
Cyclists will arrive at their sponsored Habitat home located at 912 McCalman Ave. around 1:00 p.m.
