Lotto 6/49Three Winnipeg co-workers are celebrating the start of their weekend a little bit richer.

Lani Bonifacio, Carmelita Aquino-Smith and Linda Lagman were revealed as the city’s newest millionaires this afternoon, sharing the sum of $10,772,510.

The three work at Kromar Printing on Portage Avenue and frequently play LOTTO 6/49 together when the jackpots get really big.

The winning ticket was purchased at Gateway Lotto in Portage Place, which had a jackpot of $32 million on July 15.

“I pulled out the first ticket and nothing,” Carmelita said. “The second ticket I started saying, ‘Oh we have one number, then two numbers, then three and… oh my – we won!'”
“We all started jumping up and down,” Lani remembered. “Then Carmelita started crying!”

“Many years ago in the Phillipines,” Linda recalled, “I saw a fortune teller who told me that one day I would win a lottery.”

As for what the women plan on doing with the large sum of cash, that’s something they’ll have to take their time thinking about.
