Accident Claims Life of Farmer in Glenella

RCMPA 59-year-old man has died as the result of a farming accident in Glenella, Manitoba on Tuesday.

The victim was attempting to start his tractor from outside the cab yesterday morning when it started while in gear. The tractor ran over the man, along with the attached baler. The victim was trying to get back into the tractor to stop it at the time.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his name has not been released.

An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted in Brandon.

Glenella is approximately 200 kms northwest of Winnipeg.

UPDATE: 4:17 p.m. — RCMP have identified the victim as Emil John Petrowski.
