As previously reported, VIA Rail is offering a 60% discount off tickets booked for travel before December 14, 2009. On Sunday, the company said passengers had until Wednesday at midnight to make a booking. Due to an overwhelming demand, they have extended that deadline until Friday, July 31, 2009 at 11:59 p.m. PST.
The discounts were first offered as an apology to travellers due to the two-day strike the railway experienced last weekend.
