Feeling like a rejected Facebook friend, BlackBerry billionaire Jim Balsillie is going to court once again to try and move the Phoenix Coyotes to Hamilton. But this time, it’s personal.
After an overwhelming 26-0 vote last week, the NHL shot down Balsillie’s bid to buy the team. The reason? The league feels he’s untrustworthy.
That decision doesn’t sit well with the co-CEO of Research in Motion, so now he’s asking a U.S. Bankruptcy Court to allow him to probe around to find out why.
Cash isn’t the issue, as $212.5 million U.S. has been put on the table.
Do you think they don’t like him because he’s bald? Maybe the league is made up of bullies? Whatever the reason, this guy just won’t go away.
