Vancouver Canucks - Minnesota Wild - Bus Trip

Winnipeg may not be getting an NHL team, but one local fan wants to make sure hockey diehards still get a chance to see some professional action.

Tyler Whyte is organizing a bus trip down to Minneapolis for the November 5th Minnesota Wild / Vancouver Canucks game. He’s hoping to fill up an entire bus with eager Winnipeggers who want to show Minnesota what real hockey fans are made of. “The Minnesota fans that I have spoken to while at the games admitted to having a hard time against these Canadian teams because of the fan base out of Winnipeg was so big in their arena,” Whyte tells ChrisD.ca.

The three-day trip is only the beginning of what Whyte hopes will become an annual event. At last check, there were 41 seats left, which will run you $336 each for dual occupancy, or $450 each for a single seat. All prices include the ride down there, 2 nights hotel accommodation (directly across from the Mall of America) and of course, your ticket to see the Canucks pound the Wild at the Xcel Energy Center.

A website has been set up at WildvsCanucks.com, which lists all the details of the trip, including a detailed itinerary.

“This trip was arranged to have a good time,” Whyte added. “We have lots of NHL fans in Winnipeg it’s just that were too small of a market (for the time being) to take on another NHL Franchise.”

The deadline to sign up is September 30.
