Crews have safely removed damaged sections of the Pierre Delorme Bridge in St. Adolphe. The work was completed ahead of schedule, which was expected to take several weeks.
Contrary to what officials said last week, no explosive charges were used, only excavators.
Watch:
An assessment will now be done to see if the bridge can be repaired or if it needs to be completely demolished. Officials are hoping to save as much of the remaining structure as possible.
There is no time frame on when the bridge could reopen.
