The Winnipeg Goldeyes just can’t help themselves at continuing to be great. The Northern League has named the Goldeyes the Organization of the Year. The award was handed out today, with Winnipeg earning the honour for the fourth time in seven years.
“This is an award to be shared by everyone associated with the Goldeyes and I speak on behalf of the entire organization when I say we are honoured,” said president and CEO Sam Katz in a release. “From top to bottom, this is a very solid organization. It is part of a very strong league, one that will become stronger next year with the addition of two more teams and will become even stronger in the years to come as more and more fans get to know this amazing product we call Northern League baseball.”
Canwest Park has helped draw more than three million fans to the stands in its 11 year history, which contributes to the organization’s continued success.
Voting for the award was conducted by managers, coaches, players, radio announcers, media and general managers.
