United Fire Fighters of WinnipegThe president of the United Fire Fighters of Winnipeg is currently in Los Angeles representing Manitoba Fire Fighters.

Alex Forrest will attend the memorial for Captain Tedmund “Ted” D. Hall and Fire Specialist Arnaldo “Arnie” Quinones that will be taking place on Saturday.

The two men died recently while fighting the massive wild fire that threatened the city of Los Angeles. In total, more than 20,000 Fire Fighters are expected to attend the service at Dodger Stadium, with a procession of over 800 fire trucks.

A similar service will take place in Ottawa on September 13 for Fire Fighters in Canada who died in the Line of Duty within the last year. Forrest will also represent Manitoba at that memorial.
