We’re learning more details about the deceased male found Saturday morning in the St. Boniface Cemetery.

Sources told ChrisD.ca tonight that the victim was only 17-years-old and died from stab wounds. This would make the second death in recent weeks that a teen was stabbed and sequentially died. On September 6, 17-year-old Michael Jok was found on Young Street near Portage Avenue after getting into an altercation with people in a passing vehicle.

We’re told that the victim from Saturday had many friends, was not involved with any type of gang, and the circumstances surrounding his death are unclear. We have not been able to confirm this information.

Facebook tribute groups have popped up for the teen, but because police have not formally released the victim’s name, we will not be publishing it.

An autopsy on the victim was scheduled for earlier today and results are pending.
