United Way of Winnipeg is kicking off their 2009 fundraising campaign later today by flexing some muscle.
20 teams from workplaces across the city will take part in the Competitive Pull — an attempt to heave a 191,000 lb Boeing 7-27. In the Fun Pull, another 21 teams will try their hand at towing a 90,000 lb McDonnel Douglas DC-9. It’s all about pulling together in support of the United Way, as they announcement their latest fundraising goal.
There will also be a Media All-Star Team competing, which you know ChrisD.ca will be all over.
The event begins at 11 a.m. at Red River College’s Stevenson Campus, 2280 Saskatchewan Avenue (west side of airport).
