Ashleigh BanfieldFormer Winnipegger Ashleigh Banfield is vying to be the new co-host on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” She currently sits in second place against financial guru Suze Orman.

Viewers have been voting on the website TVNewser to choose who will be Diane Sawyer‘s replacement, as she moves to take over “World News.”

It’s a big job to fill and some have really been pushing for Orman to take the seat, but of course, we all know a fellow Winnipegger would make us proud and do the job best.

The 41-year-old Canadian-American journalist currently hosts “Open Court” and “Hollywood Heat” on Tru TV. She began her career in 1988 working at a television station in Kenora, before moving to CKY-TV (now CTV Winnipeg) later that year.

Voting is coming to an end soon, so be sure to lock in your vote.
