Full Weekend of Bison Sports Ahead

September 30, 2009 5:40 AM | Sports

After coming off a win against Fraser Valley on Sunday, the Manitoba Bison women’s soccer team is ready to take on UBC in weekend action at University Stadium. Head coach Walt McKee attributes the team’s success so far this season to spreading out the goal responsibility among the team. The next game is Saturday at 10 a.m.

Manitoba Bison football will also take to the field on Saturday against Alberta at 2 p.m. Coming off a huge win during homecoming, head coach Brian Dobie says going into a bye week right after may have slowed down the team’s momentum.

Men’s hockey also plays this week, with a game on Friday at 7 p.m. against Saskatchewan. The team announced its team captains for the season on Tuesday, which include forwards Mike Hellyer, Rick Wood and defenceman Kip Workman.
