To make Canada’s roads the safest in the world, the RCMP will begin “Operation Impact” on Friday, October 9, just in time for the long weekend. The campaign will run until Monday, October 12 and aims to crack down on impaired driving, non use of seat belts, and all aspects related to aggressive driving.
All RCMP Traffic Services Units and Detachments will be participating in this initiative by increasing patrols and vigilance on roadways.
“Operation Impact” is part of Road Safety Vision 2010, which has the goal of making Canada’s roads the safest in the world by 2010.
