Christmas ShoppingFuture Shop launched a nationwide hiring blitz on Tuesday in a search for over 5,000 seasonal workers. Who said it’s tough finding a job?

The electronics retailer is looking for fill positions at approximately 142 stores across Canada, including several hundred right here in Manitoba.

“We recognize that consumer electronics top the wish lists of Canadians and that’s why we are looking to hire people who are passionate about technology. Canadians appreciate having our tech savvy associates help them identify great gifts for loved ones,” the company said in a news release.

Future Shop says they expect 25 million Canadians to shop at their stores during the holiday season, which officially kicks off November 1.

It’s a similar story at local Winnipeg shopping malls, which are now advertising numerous positions for holiday staff as well.
