Work Underway on New Heritage HQ

October 14, 2009 7:15 AM | News

After fears late last year that Kelly House would be torn down to make way for a parking lot, the historic Winnipeg building is now being renovated, as shown below on Tuesday. The house — located at 88 Adelaide Street — was in jeopardy in 2008, when its owners wanted its heritage status removed. The owners eventually struck a deal with CentreVenture Development Corp. to turn Kelly House into the new headquarters of Heritage Winnipeg.

Renovations are expected to cost about $400,000 to bring the 127-year-old property up to current safety standards.
